New Moon in Cancer

The New Moon solar eclipse on July 12th will find itself in the constellation of Cancer, and here at Mend we acknowledge the impact that changes in our environment can have on our physical and emotional functioning.  We have begun to see an influx of patients ready to initiate changes surrounding stomach and digestive issues (nausea, chronic belching, constipation, diarrhea, GERD), worry and overthinking diseases, fatigue, muscle weakness/cramping along with what we acupuncturists know as the stomach channel of the body. We’re also seeing uterine/prostate, breast, and fertility concerns.  New Moon energy also has a way of making conditions that have lain dormant and unresolved the top priority on our to-do lists. Solar eclipse energy increases this urge for change and obliges us to initiate changes whose effects will span up to the next 3 months!

Astrologically speaking, Cancer in our horoscopes is said to govern our physical and emotional habits, as well as routines that enhance our feelings of safety and security, and is associated with those body parts we hold as sacred and sensitive. When out of balance, symptoms surrounding these parts are our body’s way of directing our focus inward to their root cause.  Acupuncture can help you implement changes that will eliminate your body’s need to send you distress signals in the form of pain and discomfort.  Many times all that is necessary is a an adjustment via treatment and a reframing of your situation.  If you are experiencing any of the symptoms listed above, or have not been seen yet this season for a tune-up, contact us today to schedule your appointment.

The acupressure point Stomach-36, entitled “Leg Three Miles”,  can help your body begin to self-correct the imbalances listed above until your next visit.  Press this point firmly for 5 minute intervals 2-3 times a day to activate the channel.

Be good to yourself until we meet again!
