New Moon in Gemini

The New Moon on June 13th will find itself in the constellation of Gemini, and here at Mend we acknowledge the impact that changes in our environment can have on our physical and emotional functioning. We have begun to see an influx of patients ready to initiate changes surrounding lung and immune system related issues such as COPD, smoking cessation, asthma, allergy/sinus congestion, skin irritations, depression, grief, and trauma. As well as patients with arm, neck, and shoulder issues along what we acupuncturists know as the Lung channel of the body.  New moon energy also has a way of making conditions that have lain dormant and unresolved the top priority on our to-do lists.

Astrologically speaking, Gemini in our horoscopes is said to govern our capacity to communicate, and is concerned with the body parts that we use in that activity. When out of balance, symptoms surrounding these parts are our body’s way of directing our focus inward to their root cause. Acupuncture can help you implement changes that will eliminate your body’s need to send you distress signals in the form of pain and discomfort. Many times all that is necessary is an adjustment via treatment and a reframing of your situation. If you are experiencing any of the symptoms listed above, or have not been seen yet this season for a tune-up, contact us today to schedule your appointment.

The acupressure point Lung-9, entitled “Very Great Abyss”, can help your body begin to self-correct the imbalances listed above until your next visit. Press this point firmly for 5 minute intervals 2-3 times a day to activate the channel.

Be good to yourself until we meet again!
