Before I was an acupuncturist I was a social worker (Sarah O here). I worked in a space that I felt apologetic for – the carpet was stained, the furniture was torn, it felt like it could never really get clean. The clients coming in were in transition and often from unsafe situations at home. Arguably the look of the spaces intended to help them find security should not matter, but to me it felt like it mattered. A space and how it is cared for tells a story about how we value the people coming in its doors.

I believe all of us – regardless of what insurance you have, what you pay or can’t pay – deserve beauty.

At Mend, we enjoy the thoughtful meditation of building each space for each person who will enter the space. We learn something new with each new space.

As a small business now in various communities, our intent is to continually reinvest our resources in the people and places that make it home to many of us.

We truly hope you will like this next space. Canton opens its doors December 1, 2021. Peek at our space and designs below.

Sarah O’Leary, L.Ac., Mend Acupuncturist, Owner
Sarah was born into a healthcare family; her grandparents, parents and sister all have worked in primary care. The landscape of healthcare has changed dramatically in those 3 generations – from small town family doctors to big managed care settings. Sarah’s personal mission is to bring acupuncture’s methods (patient-centered, effective, non-pharmacological care for many conditions) into the current healthcare fold.
