For our Restorative Yoga and Acupuncture workshop, we invite a beautiful balance to the vibrancy of summer. Our yoga class will consist of gentle and restorative poses to sooth your nervous system and physical body. It will be complemented with an acupuncture treatment designed to support your parasympathetic nervous system, our rest and digest response. As always, our workshops are for any and everybody regardless of experience and skill level. You will deepen your understanding in how to care for your own body and regulate your own nervous system. Join us for a nutritious movement yoga therapy class to reinforce optimal alignment in the body to reduce chronic aches and pain.  Following the class you will be treated to an acupuncture treatment to nourish the body and our neuromuscular response to pain.  By targeting the body's meridian system and musculoskeletal patterns, acupuncture and yoga can reduce pain by promoting the release of endorphins, enhancing blood flow, regulating the nervous system and reinforce optimal alignment and range of motion.  This is an all level class and ensures a positive experience that will stay with you long after.

The Kidney and Root Chakra in Winter

I recently came across a Yoga With Adriene video, Grounding Into Gratitude: Root Chakra Yoga, and it ended up being a nourishing delight. Even though the chakras are a whole different system than Chinese Medicine, there is certainly some overlap, and this video got me thinking about how the first chakra is similar to The Kidney in the season of winter (and its corresponding emotion of fear) in Chinese Medicine.
